Shaima Khaled Al Janahi is the Acting Director of the Radiation Protection Directorate at the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), Kingdom of Bahrain. She is an accomplished radiation science professional with over 15 years of experience in medical physics, radiation protection, and emergency preparedness and response related to radiological and nuclear incidents.
In her current role, she is responsible for overseeing the regulations for handling radiation sources in both medical and industrial sectors. She also contributes to national efforts to strengthen radiological and nuclear safety and security.
Ms. AlJanahi works closely with international organizations such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Arab Atomic Energy Agency (AAEA), supporting regional cooperation, training, and capacity-building in radiation protection and emergency preparedness and response.
Eng. Hasan Mubarak, Chief of hazardous chemicals management, in the Supreme Council for Environment, the National Ozone officer for Kingdom of Bahrain. Graduated from Arabian Gulf University with Master Degree of Science in Environmental Management, and from University of Bahrain in Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
Worked in the Environmental Field for more than 20 years and developed one of the best Chemical Management control systems. Joint Montreal Protocol family for Ozone Depleting Substances in 2008 and manage many projects in industrial and service sectors to implement HCFC Phase-out Management Plan (HPMP).
The Chair of executive committee for multilateral Fund for Montreal Protocol for the year 2022, and the president of MOP (Meeting of Parties for Montreal Protocol for the year 2023).
Mark joined NSC in 2020 as Vice President of Roadway Practice after more than 20 years in the transportation industry. Currently, Mark holds the role of EVP of Safety Leadership and Advocacy and leads the operations of the Council’s advocacy programming portfolio across roadway and workplace safety domains, as well as government affairs and research functions. In December of 2023, Mark was appointed as a member of USDOT’s Transforming Transportation Advisory Committee (TTAC), serving to advise and contributing to Secretary Buttigieg’s vision for a transformative and safe transportation framework.
Prior to joining NSC, Mark was the CMO and GM of Global Business at SAE International. Before that, he served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy for Cooper Tire & Rubber Company; Global Marketing Director for Cummins Inc.; Director of Corporate Strategy for Yokohama Tire Corp; and, Marketing Manager for Ford Motor Company.
Mark earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, and an MBA from Indiana University. A life-long motorsports fan, Mark has visited more than 30 different racetracks across three continents. He resides with his family in Ann Arbor, MI.
Stephen has wealth of experience of more than 40 years in the safety, health and environmental sector, supported by formal qualifications. Stephen is an expert trainer for our and our partnering Institute, while also covering duties as a managing director of a HSE consulting firm.
He is confident of making a positive and effective contribution in a role where his knowledge and enthusiasm would contribute to a company’s success and development.

Stephen is friendly, honest, trustworthy and hardworking individual with a common-sense approach to work. Stephen is part of the National Working Group for Tunneling (CITB) writing the standards for the British Tunneling Society for tunnel operatives & supervisors, writing the specifications for Locomotives operatives’ underground. He is also a member of the committee who is charged with writing new qualification for Shot Firers & Bulk Explosives Transportation Operators for the CPCS.
Moreover, he is a Technical Trainer for the National Oil Corporation (Libya) at the Special Training Company Shell Libya.
Adrian is a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH) with over 20 years of experience in high-risk sectors, including onshore and offshore oil and gas, power generation, and data centres. He has supported multinational corporations across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
He holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the National University of Ireland and an MSc in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Loughborough University. His academic background is complemented by technical training, including diplomas in Occupational Health and Safety and Ergonomics (NUIG), and Risk, Compliance and Governance (Chartered Accountants Ireland). He also holds certifications in Environmental Management (IEMA) and Oil and Gas Operational Safety (NEBOSH).
Adrian is a Qualified Teacher (QTS) who enjoys facilitating learning and knowledge-sharing. He has worked across all phases of project lifecycles—from concept and FEED through detailed design, construction, operations, and decommissioning. He is known for solving problems in fast-paced, large-scale, and complex industrial environments and for engaging others to share and grow their expertise.
